Made sure that special characrter keys \ / : * ? < > | were the only keys not allowed in item name and other fields that use the name to create files since these characters are not allowed in naming Windows files. There was in this group a comma, a period and a few other vaild characters that are allowed and thus was removed from the non allowable list. NOTE: Added this feature to the Letter of Instruction form. Thus it too now checks for exclusion of invaild characters in the persons name and SSN.

Changed the tabbing of the item page. When tabbing from Purchase date the next field would be the internet search options. This has been changed to go to the item description field and then the internet search options.

Updated help file.

**NEW and FIXED Items***
(New) My ICE Plan now allows the insertion of any type of file. Attach PDFs, Word docs, Excel sheets, Databases and a host of other file types. Attach files such as user manuals to items or copies of insurance policies to your insurance data. Attach all of your important docs to emergency plans in pdf format or any other file type. Just add the attachment as you would normally when you add images. Instead of selecting a jpg image select a pdf file, word doc, or any file you choose. The document will be copied into the Images folder and renamed to match the item. Your original is never touched! To open the file just click on the image displayed just as you do now to zoom in. The associated program will run and open the document.

(New) There now is an “Internal Viewer” button. This can be used to view pdf files as well as regular image files. The internal viewer is handy in case no other options are available to view pdf files or standard images. (New-since build 9920) Search the Internet for a item. One click will search the web for the item entered and try to find the item by name, model serial number, and manufacture if you entered that it the data form. You can then cut and paste the details from the web. Many time there will images so you can use those images too.

Fixed the thumbnail display at the extra images list and at the emergency planning sections. The thumbnail will no longer change its shape each time you click on it.

(New) – Re-designed the data form at the emergency planning section.

Fixed – some minor issues

Coming!!! ...We are working on a adding the availability to inventory (catalog) Movies DVDs, Music CDs and Books. The new addition will pull the data from the internet using UPC and ISBN codes. There will be no charge for this upgrade.

Fixed error: when trying to delete a record that was related to another the program would tell you the record can not be deleted as it should. However when trying to edit the record or any record after the attemped deletion the program would display an "LOGOUT" error. The program would need to be restarted in order to continue. This issuse has now been fixed.

Created a new exe file for the Standard version (icehisstd.exe) and the Professional version (icehispro.exe). There was an option at the setup screen to start either the ToDo's or the inventory list (or both) when starting the program. After adding the new features below, it was discovered that if both the ToDo's and the Inventory List was selected to start (display) when the program was initially started that the program would GPF and shut down. The fix was to remove one of the choices. It was decided to leave the choice to start the ToDo's and remove the "Start the Inventory List" when the program starts. This feature may be re-added at a later date. Updating to new exe files fixes the GPF error.

*** Fixed filename issue....

If an extra dot (.) was placed in the filename or folder name before the file extensions (i.e.: if you had a photo of your home named like this "123-N.Hill-Ave.jpg" and you were using this image as your Main Home nik-name image) - then when selected, My ICE Plan would copy that photo and rename it as "Main Home.hil" instead of "Main Home.jpg. This issue has now been fixed. My ICE Plan will correctly rename the image regardless of the number of extra dots or where they are placed.

*** New Feature Added...Xplore: a feature that adds the ability to:

1 - Sort by clicking on the column heading (on a tabless list) and on list the availabilyt to:
2 - Hide columns
3 - Re-arrange columns
4 - Filter a list by right clicking in a column and selecting filter by the data click on
5 - Create a graph by simply right clicking on a data in a column - Graph can then be copied and pasted into other programs
6 - Change font size on a list
7 - Change line height on a list
8 - changes to the formatting of the list are remembered in between sessions so you don't have to re-format it the way you like it.
9 - changes to the formatting are also tab independent. You can re-arrange each list within each tab differently
10 - reset the formatting by a right click and select Defaults
11 - more Xplore features....see program

*** New Feature Added....Auto Entry!

Familiar and convenient elements of the Microsoft IntelliSense technology ("AutoComplete") now are accessible! Data entered in a field is remember and recalled when you are entering that same data again. Eliminating the need to reenter redundant data. When a similar choice of previously data enter for a field as been entered then you are offered a list of choices to choose from those previously entered. Or just type in new data if desired. This feature is turned on by default and can be turned off from the Menu / Setup option / uncheck Auto Entry.

*** New Feature Added.....New Way to view (ZOOM) in on your images!.....

Previously when you selected to enlarge your image My ICE Plan would open a larger window and display a larger view of your image.

My ICE Plan uses a viewer called "BSPictureViewer". Once you click on an image to Zoom in on a image BSPictureViewer will display your image and allow:

ZOOM IN
ZOOM OUT
Rotate
Pan left, right up or down
Print image

Great for text docs like warranty images.

*** New List Added...a list called Spreadsheet View

The spreadsheet view is a tabless list that can be sorted and re-arranged using the Xplore features mentioned above. The window is set to max and more data columns are displayed for easier viewing. The list displays all locations and all records. Of course you can filter the list any way you need by either using the Xplore features or by using the Advance Search features.

*** All Locations Tabbed list - has been set to a larger view / window size for easier viewing.

*** Working with a Specific Location list - has been set to a larger view / window for easier viewing. Also the locations part (the tabless portion) can be sorted by clicking the column headers. The inventory list (tabbed portion) is sorted by clicking on a tab, but each tabbed list can be reformatted as you desire using the Xplore features.

*** Corrected spelling errors...and other minor errors.

  1. Changed icons for Select Locations, All Locations and Edit Locations.

  1. Seperated the Personal Contacts / Family Emergency Planning Menu into to two parts: 1) Emergency Plans and 2) Contacts. Makes more sense reading it this way and looks better

  4. Updated Styles files. Created 9 more styles files, fix bubble style buttons that flickered when saving a record.
  5. Corrected spelling errors.
  6. Fixed broken links in the Agency Maps of Canada and USA. Links for Georgia, USA; New Foundland, Canada. All links in maps are now working.
  7. Corrected spelling errors in other areas of the program.


Build 9324 (12:02 PM 8/23/2009)

  1. Added code so My ICE Plan would only use one processor in a dual processor machine. This was done to avoid possible software and or hardware conflicts.
  2. Added safe guards so filenames would be named correctly. Made sure the use of special characters that are not allowed in Windows were also not allowed to be used for Item names, Location names and Room names since images filenames would be named after items or rooms or locations.
  3. Updated the Tips file.

  1. Fixed two issues with updating of the insurance company name.

    • When editing the name from the insurance data form it did not update the name in the Setup screen.
    • Additionally if you changed the default

  2. Insurance selection at the Setup screen then all items for all properties would be updated to the new selection. This would not be a problem if the same insurance
    company insured all of your properties but if you have different insurance companies for each separate property than this would be a problem. This has been fixed.
